What are the methods for cooling greenhouse in summer?

Summer is approaching, with high temperatures and strong sunlight. If our greenhouse is not properly managed, vegetables in our greenhouse are prone to sunburn and poor flower bud differentiation during the day; At night, if the temperature is too high, the respiration of vegetable plants remains strong, and vegetables consume a large amount of organic nutrients. If the nutrients cannot keep up, the vegetable plants will become thin and weak, causing flower and fruit drop. Therefore, it's time to cool down the greenhouse.

1. Cover the sunshade net.

Advantages: Good cooling effect and low cost investment.

Disadvantages:

(1) It cannot be covered all day long. Every day, we need to adjust according to the weather conditions.

(2) The shading net should not be tightly attached to the greenhouse film, otherwise it will increase the temperature inside the greenhouse and not have a cooling effect.

2. Spray mud.

Advantages: Low cost cooling measures.

Disadvantages: Mud is not resistant to rainwater erosion; On cloudy days, mud can block the light and hinder the photosynthesis of vegetables.

3. Spray cooling agent.

Advantages:

(1) Cooling agents can convert direct light into scattered light, and the greenhouse temperature can be reduced by 3-8 ℃.

(2) Durable to rainwater erosion.

(3) On cloudy and rainy days, cooling agents can increase the transparency of the greenhouse and meet the light demand of vegetables.

Disadvantage: Compared to the other three greenhouse cooling measures, the cost of spraying cooling agents is higher.

4. Lay organic materials such as rice husks, straw, or straw in the operation line, and water them frequently with small amounts of water.

After being exposed to sunlight, the soil in the greenhouse will store a large amount of heat. At night, the soil will emit heat, causing the temperature inside the greenhouse to be higher. The respiration of vegetables in the greenhouse is at a high level, and organic nutrients are consumed in large quantities, which is not conducive to the increase of vegetable yield.

Lay organic matter such as rice husks, straw, or straw in the operation line. The sunlight cannot directly shine on the ground, reducing the heat absorption and evaporation of the soil. As a result, the temperature inside the greenhouse naturally decreases.
